Our studio is based in Budapest, where each piece is crafted with intention and soul.

What does ‘The Sentimentalist’ mean?
To us, jewelry is more than adornment — it’s memory, emotion, and expression. The Sentimentalist is about timeless designs that speak to your story and grow more meaningful with time.

 

Orders & delivery

How long will it take to receive my order?
For ready-to-ship items, your piece will be dispatched within 2–3 business days — just allow for standard delivery time depending on your location.

For made-to-order and custom pieces, please allow for production time in addition to shipping:

  • Made-to-order pieces: 4–5 weeks
  • Custom-made jewelry: 6–8 weeks

Each piece is crafted with intention and care. Once your order is ready, you'll receive a shipping confirmation with tracking details.

If you need your jewelry by a specific date, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’ll do our best to accommodate your timeline.

 

Why does it take so long for made-to-order and custom-made pieces?
Because something truly personal takes time.

Each made-to-order or custom piece begins with a conversation — we take time to understand your ideas, your story, and what the piece should represent. From there, we enter the design phase, followed by careful sourcing of materials such as pearls, stones, or specialty metals that reflect your vision.

Only then do we begin the slow, careful process of handcrafting your jewelry — shaping, setting, finishing — until it's exactly as it should be: meaningful, lasting, and uniquely yours.

This thoughtful approach takes several weeks, but we believe the result is worth every moment.

 

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do. We offer international shipping with tracked delivery. Please note that customs duties may apply depending on your country’s regulations.

Can I request express shipping?
If you need your piece sooner, please email us at aloha@the-sentimentalist.com before placing your order. We'll do our best to accommodate you.

What currency can I pay with?
Our webshop’s currency is set in EUR, so you will automatically be charged in EUR.

Will my order be gift-wrapped?
Yes — all orders are thoughtfully and beautifully wrapped, whether it’s a gift for a loved one or a special piece just for you. We believe unwrapping should feel as meaningful as the jewelry inside.

What materials do you use?
We use responsibly sourced metals — mainly sterling silver and 14k gold — alongside carefully selected gemstones. Each piece is made to last and to tell a story over time.

Are your pieces handmade?
Yes. Every item is crafted by hand, with a deep respect for traditional techniques and modern refinement.

Do you offer custom or personalized pieces?
We love creating meaningful jewelry. If you’re looking for something personal — an engraving, a specific stone, or a custom design — please get in touch and book an appointment for a free consultation. We’ll be happy to explore the possibilities with you.

Are your diamonds ethically sourced?
Our diamonds are sourced from Responsible Jewellery Council accredited suppliers. Our engagement ring white diamonds also come with GIA certification.

How shall I measure the size for a ring?
The most accurate way to find your ring size is to visit a local jeweler for professional sizing. However, if that's not possible, we offer a printable ring size guide and a few tips for measuring at home:

    • Using a ring you already own: Choose a ring that fits the intended finger and measure the inner diameter in millimeters. You can then match it to our sizing chart.

    • Using a string or strip of paper: Wrap it around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimeters. Be sure the fit is snug but comfortable—your ring should slide over your knuckle with gentle resistance.

Remember that finger sizes can change slightly depending on the time of day or temperature, so it’s best to measure in the evening when your hands are warm.

How should I care for my jewelry?

Do you offer repairs or resizing?

Returns & exchanges

Can I return or exchange a piece?
For custom made and made-to-order sized pieces we’re unable to offer refunds. However, if there’s a problem with your item, we’ll do everything we can to make it right. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order.
